         Join the Association    

  Membership in the USS Lawrence Association is limited to the following:

1. Former crew members of all ships named  after Captain Lawrence.

2. Crew members of any present or future ships named after Captain Lawrence.

3. All spouses or immediate family members of those listed in items 1 & 2 above or of a deceased member.

Membership Levels

1. Crewmember - This level of membership is automatic for any individual that falls into one of the three catagories listed above. This level of membership is free but there are no voting rights.

2. Spouse - This level of membership is automatic for any spouse or significant other of those in items 1 & 2 listed above. This level of membership is free but there are no voting rights unless their spouse is a dues paying member. In that case they are entitled to one(1) family vote on issues and elections.

3. Dues Crewmember - This level of membership is voluntary and requires the paying of yearly dues, currently set at $10.00. This level of membership also includes voting rights within the Association. In the event that the dues paying crewmember has a spouse or significant other, they will both be entitled to one(1) family vote on issues and in the election.

4. Denial of Membership - A crewmember may or can be denied membership in the Association and not be permitted to attend the yearly reunions if they were not honorably discharged. Also, if by a majority vote of the Executive Board of the Association, the crewmember is deemed to be a risk to others, has been known to cause problems in the past, would disrupt reunions, the Associations activites, or would be a risk to himself, or any other reason the Executive Board finds that the crewmember would be unfit to be part of the Association, membership will be denied.

How to Join

For the free membership, you don't have to do anything. We consider all those that served on ships named after Captain James Lawrence official members. If you choose to become a dues paying member and desire voting rights in the Association, go to the Ship's Store link at the top of the page and print off the Ship's Store/Membership/Raffle Form. At the top of the form is the membership area. Check the years you are paying dues for. Consider ordering from the ship's store. Then mail a check made out to "USS Lawrence Association" and mail it to the address listed on the bottom of the form. Yearly membership runs from January 1st to December 31st of each year.
